Toy2r HK Designer Qee Series

HK Designer Series Ad
Toy2r is going to be offering a new Hong Kong Designer 2" Qee Series at the upcoming Taipei Toy Festival (8/11 - 8/14). The intent of the series is to give back to the Hong Kong designer community by showcasing the designs of 8 HK designers/artists including: Alex Lau, Alice Chan, Tim Tsui, Danny Chan, Ultraman, Paul Leung, Pal Wong, and HuskyPapa. As a bonus, customers who purchase all eight designs will be eligible for a free 'Logo' egg Qee! This is a really cool project -- all eight Qees are quite nice. Though the designs by Danny Chan, Tim Tsui and Alice Chan really stand out IMO. I bet quite a few collectors are wishing they could drop by Taipei to pick up the entire set :-)

Taipei Toy Fesitval (8/11 - 8/14)
Now that the excitement, exclusives and sheer madness of the San Diego Comic-Con is over (well, until next year!), we turn our attention towards the next big toy event -- The Taipei Toy Festival which runs from August 11 to the 14th. TTF is shaping up to be the event of the year for eastern designer vinyl. Heavyweights such as Adfunture which were not at SDCC will be out in force for this event. Also the first attendees (500 or so) will receive a free exclusive toy each day of the festival including CiBoys, MiniJays, and more. Can't make it? No worries -- Tony Nakanari will be providing Vinyl Pulse with lots of great pics from the festival! Check out the great poster to the left by none other than Nathan Juervicius.

Boba Fett Trexi by PhuEk
PhuEk has made a name for himself through his excellent custom Trexis. We've featured two of his previous customs. Now, he brings us his amazing Boba Fett Trexi! PhuEk used the Trexi shape really well to give Boba a spunky 'super-deformed' look. Details abound -- the silver paint works well to give our favorite intergalactic bounty hunter's armor a convincing battle-stressed look. Also, check out the detail work on the gloves and the utility belt! The accessories work well and are just the right scale. Finally, once again PhuEk comes up with a cool base -- this time a glowing red base to simulate steaming hot rocket exchaust. I'm definitely looking forward to more great Trexis from PhuEk! Comments? Questions for PhuEk?
