Sket-One’s 8-inch”King Tut” Dunny in the pipeline?

I’ve always been a fan of Kidrobot’s Dunny toy.  The shape is cute and it lends itself to nice artwork as evidenced from series 1, the various 8-inch dunnies, and the upcoming series 2.  Dunnies aren’t just cool vinyl toys though.  Oh no, they are also pieces of art.  Sure, designer toys can be seen as afforadable pieces of art, but custom dunnies have also been featured in art galleries.  In particular, Kidrobot presented the "Dunny Show"  in 2004 at the Visionaire Gallery in NYC featuring a group of 20-inch (yes, 20 inch!) custom dunnies intrepreted by a set of amazing artists.  After I got over the initial wow factor of viewing these dunnies, one in particular stood out: Sket-one’s "King Tut" dunny.  This design just oozes cool and "buy me".  I figured I would have to be content with the picture as the original almost certainly was sold to a collector who would undoubtedly consider it to be a prized centerpiece of their collection.

But…

It looks like I and other Dunny fans are in serious luck!  According to an interview with Sket-one in the second issue of Clutter magazine and a message board post on Vinyl Boutiquefrom Sket-one, "King Tut" dunny will be coming back from the after-life as an 8-inch production model!  Apparently, it’s going to have the full-set of clothes and such and there might even be an ultra-limited variant colorway!  The mind boggles…I’m mentally saving money right now!
